THE MAGIC ISLAND
Shakespeare’s most imaginative and mystical play is an ideal introduction to his work, for people of all ages. Let us transport you to Prospero’s island, as he conjures up shipwrecks and spirits, jesters and drunkards, monsters and music through the power of his magic.  His daughter Miranda has much to learn about the island and about her father, but most importantly about the world around her.  Elaborate scenery, original music, props and costume are utilised by the cast, in a dynamic, physical, action packed production. 

A PARTICIPATORY PRODUCTION
In this highly participatory experience, children from the audience are encouraged to be fully involved.  Some children will be invited on to the stage to play supporting roles, and the whole audience will become the Kings and Dukes, Lords and Ladies, of Milan and Naples.

LANTERNFISH WORKSHOP AVAILABLE!
Lanternfish Theatre Company can come to your school and work directly with the students.  During the two-hour workshop, the children will create and enter the exciting world of Prospero’s Isle, with its storms, shipwrecks, monsters and magic.  Becoming actors in the company, they will create their own rich characters and scenes by exploring Shakespeare’s text.
The workshop embraces the new government directive ‘Shakespeare for all ages and stages’.  This urges schools to bring the Bard’s work to younger children.
